Discover Belize from a completely different perspective with our River Kayaking Tour — an unforgettable adventure through jungle waterways, scenic mountain landscapes, and some of Belize’s most beautiful natural environments.
What began as a favorite childhood pastime has grown into one of our signature adventures. Today, we offer kayaking experiences across three spectacular rivers, each with its own character, scenery, wildlife, and story.
Whether you’re looking for exciting rapids, peaceful jungle scenery, or an immersive wildlife experience, there’s a river waiting for you.
Mopan River – Cayo District
Northern Stann Creek River – Stann Creek District
Southern Stann Creek River – Stann Creek District
All three experiences feature Class II–III rapids, making them exciting while remaining accessible to both adventurous beginners and experienced paddlers.
Located in the heart of the Cayo District, near San Ignacio, the Mopan River offers a perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and natural beauty.
Your journey begins near the Belize–Guatemala border, where you’ll launch your kayak and paddle downstream through lush jungle scenery and gentle Class II–III rapids. Along the way, keep an eye out for tropical birds, iguanas, fish, and other wildlife along the riverbanks.
After approximately three miles, you’ll reach the historic hand-cranked ferry in San Jose Succotz, the same crossing used to access the ancient Xunantunich Maya Ruins.
For those looking for a longer adventure, you can continue for another three miles toward the endpoint just beyond Clarissa Falls, where our driver will meet you and take you to Benny’s Restaurant for a taste of authentic Belizean cuisine.
The Mopan River adventure can also be combined with a visit to Xunantunich, creating a full day of nature, history, culture, and exploration.
Seasonal Adventure | June – February
The Northern Stann Creek River is where our passion for kayaking began. Flowing near our hometown, this river was our childhood playground — a place where we swam, explored, and developed a lifelong love for Belize’s waterways.
Today, we invite you to experience the same river that started it all.
Your adventure begins with a scenic drive of approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes into the mountain village of Valley Community. From there, we’ll paddle approximately 6 miles downstream, with the journey taking around 4 to 5 hours.
The river winds through the spectacular landscapes surrounding the Hummingbird Highway, with rolling green mountains, misty valleys, and dense rainforest creating a breathtaking backdrop.
Crystal-clear water reveals the riverbed and fish below as you navigate a series of Class II–III rapids. Along the way, you may encounter toucans, herons, cormorants, egrets, iguanas, and other wildlife.
After the kayaking adventure, take time to relax, enjoy a hearty local meal, and take in the scenery before heading back. From pickup to drop-off, the experience lasts approximately 10 hours — a full day of paddling, nature, and discovery.

Seasonal Adventure | June – February
For a truly immersive jungle experience, venture into the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, home to the Southern Stann Creek River and one of Belize’s most important protected rainforest ecosystems.
The Cockscomb Basin encompasses approximately 128,000 acres of protected wilderness, while the neighboring Bladen Nature Reserve forms part of a much larger protected landscape of approximately 250,000 acres.
Here, kayaking becomes more than a river adventure. You’ll paddle through winding jungle waterways surrounded by the Maya Mountains, dense tropical forest, crystal-clear water, and the sounds of the rainforest.
Navigate gentle Class II–III rapids as the river winds through the wilderness. Every bend offers a new view — from sunlight filtering through the canopy to tropical birds overhead and wildlife moving along the riverbanks.
Cockscomb Basin is particularly known for its jaguar habitat. While seeing a jaguar is rare, you may discover signs of their presence, including paw prints, scratches, and trails. More commonly, you may encounter howler monkeys, toucans, herons, iguanas, tapir tracks, and other wildlife.
This experience offers a unique opportunity to connect with Belize’s protected wilderness while exploring the river at water level.
